February 2007
We hit the ground running in 2007 and are so grateful to God for
allowing us to be used by Him in this place.
CARLITOS
Last week we got a new student – a very small 7 year old boy,
Carlitos. He knows no sign language and he has a problem with
running away. He has “escaped” several times…one time he
climbed up a six-foot wall and went out the bathroom window.
Another time he left the dorm during the night and ended up near
our house…barefoot, looking for his mother. We are praying his
behavior will improve because he is very sweet and seems like he
will learn fast.
“be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” II Timothy 2:21

TRADE TRAINING
Our Directors want to start intentionally training the students in the trades and “domestic”
skills. This is exactly what we were hoping to do and God has allowed it to happen. Howard
has been teaching the older boys trades like grouting tile and painting but now he is holding
a class with them two days a week. He is starting by teaching the boys to repair their own
dorm. They will be fixing the plumbing in their bathroom, fixing dry rotted wood and painting
the whole dorm, inside and out. This will give them the skills to maintain their own home
someday as well as help them work with a future employer.
EV FREE VISITS MEXICO
Last month we had a great time when our
own church sent a short term team to
frame a new room onto an existing building
as well as meet other needs here at RSM.
The fellowship was great and such an
encouragement to us. While they were
here, one of our girls had a fever spike up
to 103.8. The EvFree ladies immediately
went to prayer as Janet attended to the sick
girl. By morning her temperature had
returned to normal and she was able to
come to breakfast.
PRAYER
Wisdom and discernment since we have been given more responsibility with the ministry.
Our new student, Carlitos. He is still uncertain why he is here and where his mom went.
That he will adjust to the new surroundings and rules, and will quickly learn sign language.
Our involvement with the students has really grown. We would like prayer to be creative and
focused in our ministry to them. Howard has already started a project with Rodolfo, a 15 year old
boy and Janet is continuing her involvement with the girls in the sewing class: Lizette, Jazmin,
Monica, and Marisol, as well as her chapel class (which now includes Carlitos!).
Rest and health.
