September Newsletter
Hello Dear Friends,
It’s been awhile since our last newsletter. We traveled around for a bit this summer raising
support for the upcoming year and now we are back in Mexico, welcoming the students as they
arrive for the new school year. We tried to see most of you…thank you for your hospitality and
encouragement.
NEW STUDENT
All the students from last year are planning to return and we are expecting a few new ones – so
far 28 students have arrived. We have one new student, Ana Lidia. She is 9 years old and is a
sweet, good natured girl. She is in Janet’s chapel class so Janet has lots of opportunities to
“love on her.” Already she will answer basic questions like “Does Jesus love Ana Lidia?” She
gives a timid “yes” then flashes her dimpled smile when Janet assures her that her answer
was correct.
TEACHING
Howard is teaching for the Staff Church Service again this year. We meet in our home and it
feels a lot like a college group, since we have 4 new staff members, ages 18-22. He is also
leading staff devotions in the mornings once or twice a week and once in September he taught
church on Sunday morning. It looks like teaching will be a bigger part of his focus this year.
COMMUNICATION
We will send more information in a future newsletter. We have been without snail mail and
internet so we wanted to just send a quick note. Snail mail should start in the middle of October
and the Internet will hopefully be up soon. But for now communication will be intermittent.
PRAYER
That we would daily walk in step with the Spirit.
Trust God fully for our provision.
Strength and health for the work.
Ana Lidia. She is very shy about signing. Pray that she will come out of her shell and
soon become “one of the family.”
Water. We have the permits to dig a well and the funding for it, but so far we haven’t
found any water. Pray that God leads us to the water source.
We’ve had one week without water already this year.
That we will have patience as the internet and mail gets figured out.
We would love to uphold you in prayer. Please email us any prayer needs that you have and we
would count it a privilege to remember you in prayer.
Together on the Journey,
Howard and Janet
