Marisol
In our last newsletter we mentioned a young
woman in the Training Center Class who wanted
to "take her faith to the next level." She believes
that the Great Commission in Matthew 28 is for
the deaf too...not just hearing people. That girl is
Marisol and we are intentionally training and
preparing her to be sent out as our first
missionary. This requires a lot of coordination
and preparation but most of all a lot of prayer.
We are sharing this with you so you can be a part
of Marisol's life as you intercede on her behalf.
We will keep you updated about Marisol and
others like her, who are stretching their faith and
opening their eyes to the need around them.
This month's prayer requests for Marisol:
- She has two difficult exams to pass with the Mexican School District in order to get her
Secondaria Diploma. One in December and one in January.
- Even now, that she would learn the joy of trusting God for every need.
- Stay consistent in her time with the Lord. Experience new ways to abide in the Vine.
- Health and stamina as she takes classes for school and the Training Center,
simultaneously.
- Be able to spend quality time with her friends here, before she leaves.
- That WE will be able to identify ways we can equip her to serve the Lord with excellence.
Marisol
Christmas is a time for gifts. We love to give them and look forward to receiving them.
Through the peaks and valleys of 2010 we have experienced many gifts along the way.
The support of our friends and family has been a gift that has carried us through
changes and enabled us to continue working toward the goal of training the deaf.
We both LOVE what we are doing here in Mexico. What a gift! We are serving within
our giftedness and providing an environment for those around us to experience joy in
serving within their's.
We are enjoying the process of preparing Marisol as a gift to the deaf ministry in
which she chooses to serve.
It's that time of year...
Once a year we remind people that we are funded entirely on donations and are able to
continue the work because of the generous support of people like you. All donations, year-end
or otherwise, are tax-deductible and will be used to bring the love and hope of Jesus to the deaf.
For more information on how to donate, please see our Parnership Page. Thank you in
advance for considering the support of this remarkable work.
You Can't Keep A Good Construction Worker Down!
Rancho Sordo Mudo and Strong Tower Ministries have
caught the vision for the Deaf Ministry Training Center.
Together they are spearheading the construction of a
building that will be used to train deaf and hearing
people who want to become ministers to the deaf.
Howard will be the on-site supervisor of the project
and it will be built almost entirely by volunteers. Last
week we broke ground and removed several trees. As
we write this letter, the backhoes are grading the site.
